Who We Are - A Mission for Action

The NC Child Care Coalition, a project of the N.C. Early Childhood Association (NCECA), is a statewide advocacy initiative dedicated to promoting high quality, accessible, affordable child care and early childhood services in North Carolina Founded in 1990, we accomplish our mission of advocacy and education by:

• Developing policy positions shared with elected officials.
• Researching and producing fact sheets for our members, legislators, legislative and executive branch staff and the media
• Supporing financailly a full time early childhood policy consultant and lobbyist at the State Legislature.
• Providing advocacy workshops and materials for use at conferences and in workshops
• Creating advocacy alerts to mobilize its members to action on early childhood issues

The NC Child Care Coalition has led the way in support for efforts like Smart Start, More at Four, increased child care subsidies for low income children, better rates for child care providers, T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® scholarships and the star rated license system. Our membership includes 20 statewide organizations, regional or local agencies, child care providers and interested individuals.
